Acquisition of prime property in heart of Tokyo and Seiyu-Walmart development
APL Group acquires Sun Street Kameido, an urban shopping center situated on 3.8 hectares of prime land in the heart of Tokyo, Japan.
APL Group is also selected by Seiyu-Walmart to develop, lease, and manage a shopping center anchored by its flagship supercenter in Japan, with completion and a grand opening three years later in 2007. -
2009
APLJ assists in resolution of the Lehman Brothers Japan portfolios
After the 2008 global financial crisis, APLJ is asked to take on advisory assignments to manage and find solutions for several challenged portfolios and assets, including the post-bankruptcy Lehman Brothers real estate equity and loan portfolios in Japan.

Acquisition of Ginza Tiffany Building
APL Group acquires the Tiffany Building in Tokyo’s upscale Ginza Shopping District, a transaction that was facilitated by a European bank with whom APL has a strong relationship.

Acquisition of Shiba Park Building “Asia Deal of the Year”
APL Group leads an international consortium of investors to acquire what was then the second-largest single real estate asset transaction in Japan after the 2008 global financial crisis, the landmark Shiba Park Building. The transaction was named “Asia Deal of the Year” by Private Equity Real Estate Magazine.

Grand Opening of Sunnyside Mall Kokura
APLJ fully renovates and revitalizes a former GMS in Kitakyushu City and reopens as Sunnyside Mall Kokura.

Opening of Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel
APL Group completes development of Tokyo Bay Tokyu Hotel, a 638-room hotel adjacent to Tokyo Bay near Tokyo Disneyland. The firm successfully opens the hotel in spring 2018.

APLJ signs a joint investment framework agreement with the RE-SEED Association for large-scale retail facilities investments focused on environmental improvements.

Acquisition of Nittoh Mall and SKI JAM Katsuyama Operating Company
APL Group acquires Nittoh Mall, a large-scale retail facility in Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture.
APL Group acquires majority states in the operating company of SKI JAM Katsuyama Ski Resort in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture.
